Former WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson defeated Frankie Edgar at UFC 144 tonight to become the new UFC lightweight champion.

Also at the event, Ryan Bader bested Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, while Jake Shields returned to his winning ways with a victory over Yoshihiro Akiyama.
